Held by His Love: The Story of Two Rings

Daily Devotions, MorningMeds

Wedding rings are so much more than pieces of jewelry. They are symbols, reminders of love and commitment, visible testaments to a covenant made. When I look at the ring on my left hand, I see a reflection of the promises my husband and I made to one another, to love, cherish, and walk together […]

MorningMeds

Far too often Christians living in quiet resignation to the power of sin in our lives. The Dangers of the “Self-Love” Doctrine

Blog, MorningMeds

I was scrolling through Facebook the other day and ran across a meme with lots of thumbs up and comments encouraging the idea that “self-love” is the key to loving others. This foolish and empty talk has continued to gain significant approval in social media.  The prevailing message is that you cannot truly love others […]

“Your whole life ought to be disciplined (i.e., structured, set up, organized, and running day by day) toward the goal of godliness. Head Knowledge vs. Heart Knowledge

MorningMeds

One knows Jesus lives because they have personally encountered him. They have walked with him in life as Enoch walked with God. They aren’t living off another’s life experience and stories. Instead their life is filled with their own miraculous stories about when God caused them to walk in faith, when God rescued them, when God revealed himself to them in ways no one else could see but their own eyes. They know what they have seen with their own eyes, heard with their own ears concerning the Word of life. The life was made manifest to them. (1 John 1:1-3) They may not have touched Christ as John and the other apostles did but they cannot deny that Christ has touched them and spoken to them.  They may not be able to understand it fully or explain it, but they know Christ yet lives because God has revealed Him to them in their own lives.

MorningMeds, Poetry

Upon the shore       Of Evermore, We sport, like children at their play;       And gather shells       Where sinks and swells  The mighty sea from far away.         Upon that beach,         Nor voice nor speech Doth things intelligible say;         But through our souls          A whisper rolls, That comes to us from […]
