“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” – Proverbs 9:10 Magnificent God, You taught us that true wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. That is something I don’t hear a lot about these days. Not many want to talk about fearing the Lord with absolute awe encased in highest respect […]
The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died. Revelation 16:3 Dear Father, I am sickened by the oil slick that is threatening my sweet home Alabama. I see images coming via the news of the […]
“My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.” Psalm 63:8 Dear Father, I enjoy reading books and listening to talk radio, well of the spiritual kind that is. Throughout the day, usually commuting somewhere, I get a chance to hear many different authors and speakers. I often gather tremendous insight and then find […]
We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete – 1 John 1:3-4 Why does John and the other […]

The blaring radio alarm jolted me from a deep sleep. Slapping the annoying electronic device wildly in the dark while trying to work free from the entanglement of bedding must have looked like an octopus escaping a fishing net. Finally, quietness was restored and I snuggled back for a few more winks before starting my […]
Has Jesus split your world into two since he has entered your life? Has he turned your world completely upside down? This does tend to be the mark of his presence and of his power when he enters into life. The earth quakes, the wind tears, the rocks shatter, and the sky thunders at his […]
“Fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are thy works…” Psalm 139:14 Heavenly Father, My heart quietly gives thanks to You. I would shout but a whisper of a whimper is all that will come out. All of the sound is bottled up in my throat like a cork. That is what extreme awe does to me. […]
Do you know why I loved my grandmother so much? Because she loved me first! Just as Jesus loved us first! She showed me the unconditional, sacrificial love of Christ! His love was there in her gentle hands. Hands that never harmed me; That touched me and held me with affection and joy. His […]
