Our Call to Preserve Unity: Ephesians 4:1 Part 2

Bible Study

As we continue on in the second half of the book of Ephesians, we are faced with the challenge of taking the rich doctrinal truths we’ve explored in chapters 1-3 and applying them to our lives. The question arises: Where do we begin with the application of this profound theology? Lets explore the starting point […]

Walking Worthy of His Calling: Ephesians 4:1 Part 1

Bible Study

Back in May I started a Women’s Bible study group at our church on Monday evenings. It’s hybrid.  We meet at the church but we also have remote ability for friends out of state or members traveling or ourselves when the weather is bad.  I am thankful for today’s technology and the ability to gather […]

The Holy War – The Timeless Battle Within

Book Reviews

John Bunyan’s “The Holy War” will remind you of this childhood tune. The Holy War is a profound allegory that illustrates the spiritual battle for the human soul.  The story centers around a little town called “Mansoul,” founded by the Sovereign King Shaddai, representing the human heart. This little town Mansoul is besieged by the […]

SOARING TO GOD

MourningMeds, Poetry

SOARING TO GOD Toplady Deathless principle, arise! Soar, thou native of the skies! Pearl of price, by Jesus bought, To His glorious likeness wrought, Go to shine before His throne, Deck the mediatorial crown; Go, His triumphs to adorn, Born for God, to God return. Lo, He beckons from on high! Fearless to His presence […]

A Spiritual Awakening

Poetry

“But God, being rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.” –  Eph. 2:5 A Spiritual Awakening In a chasm dark, so cavernous and deep, Lay a soul entombed, in sin’s […]

Two Guilty Thieves

Poetry

Two souls aloft on timbers high, Beneath the brooding, darkened sky. One to the left, one to the right, Both nearing their eternal night. The first thief, eyes alight with scorn, Cursed the King in crown of thorn. A life misspent, in vice entwined, No love for glory, just the blind. His lips dripped poison, […]

Sinful Souls Humble Plea

Poetry

In sacred silence, on bended knee, I come, O Lord, to converse with Thee. With trembling heart and tear-filled eye, I bow my head and heave a sigh. Contrition’s shroud around me cast, I ponder deeds and choices past. A sinner stands, unworthy, vile, Yet yearning for Your loving smile. My soul, it aches to […]

Head Knowledge vs. Heart Knowledge

MorningMeds

One knows Jesus lives because they have personally encountered him. They have walked with him in life as Enoch walked with God. They aren’t living off another’s life experience and stories. Instead their life is filled with their own miraculous stories about when God caused them to walk in faith, when God rescued them, when God revealed himself to them in ways no one else could see but their own eyes. They know what they have seen with their own eyes, heard with their own ears concerning the Word of life. The life was made manifest to them. (1 John 1:1-3) They may not have touched Christ as John and the other apostles did but they cannot deny that Christ has touched them and spoken to them.  They may not be able to understand it fully or explain it, but they know Christ yet lives because God has revealed Him to them in their own lives.

The Distant Shore

MorningMeds, Poetry

Upon the shore       Of Evermore, We sport, like children at their play;       And gather shells       Where sinks and swells  The mighty sea from far away.         Upon that beach,         Nor voice nor speech Doth things intelligible say;         But through our souls          A whisper rolls, That comes to us from […]
