“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Dear Father,
Whew! Halfway through a marathon week! Much accomplished and so much still left to do. Rushing to finish end of year deadlines, attending the „need-to? and „want-to? celebrations, and business travel still ahead before the weekend begins leaves few spare moments. Somehow I need to go Christmas shopping and there is still a box of unopened Christmas decorations on my living room floor. I am running at break-neck speed and literally making a list and checking it twice to see what I need to do and where I need to be next. My mind is a blur and my feet hurt. But in all of this busy-ness I pray that I don?t jeopardize my time with you, Lord Jesus. I don?t want our time pushed to the rear like the dried up mystery dish in the back of my refrigerator. As I purposely take my alone time with you, the peace comes and the joy bubbles up. You calm me, enlighten me, and refresh my spirit. So if my cookies are not homemade, and the bow does not match the gift wrap, and the Christmas tree is listing to the left, my joy can still be full because of you. Even in the frenzied, frazzled, hurriedness of life, my soul soars with delight at the wonder of this special time of year. I absolutely love Christmas! You gave me a spirit that celebrates and I toss it up to you in a shower of glittering confetti and praise you Lord Jesus for coming to us! Thank you for this special time of year and thank you for reminding me to not lose focus. Thank you for causing me to find a few quiet minutes throughout the day to sit in your presence and “be still and know…”

Pausing to breathe,
Penny
