“Joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30:5

Thank You dear God for joy. There are days that I awaken and joy greets me like the morning sun. Those mornings when birds are chirping, the sun is softly shimmering and my heart leaps and twirls like a ballet dancer. Then there are days that the only birds in my life are crows and vultures waiting to eat me alive; the sun is scorching my heart like a desert and my heart withers and crumbles like a long forgotten rose. But even on those days, and today by the way is one of them, it is there – yes, there it is – I see it – deep down joy. It is something that cannot be extinguished, cannot be drowned, and cannot be kidnapped for it is Jesus joy – fruit of the Spirit joy. That is why it cannot be taken away, because it is of Your Spirit and not of this world. O there is worldly joy, but that joy is temperamental and temporary. It depends on things and events. But Jesus, Your joy is different. It only depends on one thing – You. I call it ‘Jesus Only You’ joy. Thank You Father for reminding me to choose life today, to choose Christ today and to rejoice always in all things. Ok, now I face the day and my joy has come… Amen.

I love You joyfully,
Penny
