“You are a letter from Christ…”
2 Corinthians 3:3

Dear Father,
A letter from Christ… I never imagined that I might be a letter from Him. That is a jaw dropping thought to me. What kind of letter have I been? There were many times that this „letter? probably looked more like a bill to my family, friends and church; “You owe me” for serving, teaching, praying, and so forth. Then I might have read like a sympathy card; “Deepest regrets and sorry for everything.” And I might have read like some of the junk mail advertisements – glossy paged promises but delivering little. Ouch! These are not the kind of letters that I want to be to my world. I want to be a birth announcement sending out the good news of brothers and sisters just born into the family of God. I want to be a wedding invitation to the marriage of the Lamb. I want to be a letter that begins and ends with Christ Jesus. Let me be an open book with pages written full of grace and mercy from a God who loves me beyond reason. Oftentimes I have wondered why You have me live my life inside out, so much of it exposed. But a letter is meant to be read and so I ask You, Author of my life, to continue writing Your story in me. I pray that the hope and comfort that You have heaped on me might encourage another who walks this same road of faith. Help us all to live as open letters of Christ. Until the day the book of my life is finished and You put the period dot at the end of the page, let me read as a living testimony of the living Lord Jesus. Write on me… Amen.

Forever Yours,
Penny
