IMG_0408 Has Jesus split your world into two since he has entered your life?  Has he turned your world completely  upside down? This does tend to be the mark of his presence and of his power when he enters into life.   The earth quakes, the wind tears, the rocks shatter, and the sky thunders at his presence. How much more so do our lives and hearts as he enters them? 1Kings 19:11-12, Isa 29:6, Matt 28:2, Matt 27:54

The presence of Christ in our life has extraordinary effects in our heart and in our lives. The silent begin to speak, the possessed and addicted are set free, the blind see, the deaf hear. The proud are humbled, the humbled are lifted up. The weak are made strong, the strong are made weak. The coward is made courageous, the broken are healed, the rebellious bow low in submission, the crooked go straight, the thief learns to give, the murder learns to lay his life down instead of attacking, the unloving become loving, the ignorant fools become wise men and teachers of men. The insane become theologians declaring the glory of God.  The lonely are set in families.  The lion lies down with the lamb.

The presence of Christ in our hearts has a tendency to turn our lives upside down.  As Christ enters, a new world order enters with him and is set up. A coup takes place from our old form of self government, rebellion, bondage and submission to the desires of this world.  True authority is now present and where genuine authority stands, false authority is exposed and brought low to bow before him and shown to be weak in His presence. Disorder and chaos are cast out as order steps in.

This is the extraordinary effect of Jesus, the Son of God has as he enters into our lives and takes up residence in our hearts. He commands order. He stands with us before all our enemies, before all that once threatened us and held us in bondage. He delegates to us his own power and resources so that we can overcome and be submissive to him alone.  Fear and anxiety can no longer hold us back.  Addictions can no longer shackle us down.  Greed can no longer cause us to reach out and ignorance can no longer keep us in the dark. We are no longer their slaves., but have been set free. His word has come to us. He has called us to come forth and to come and follow him and he has enabled us to answer his call.

As we begin to stand and come forward at his command, we see the shackles fall off, we see our enemies rush forward and then step aside, we see the dark areas flooded with light, we see all the filth, the grunge and grime where we were once held for what it is. We see he wants to free us, give us something more, protect us, heal us clean us and even adopt us. We see love and we see the way out. We see him at the door, at the door reaching out his hand to be our Savior, our Protector, and Our Provider. Our Guide. Our new Authority who can never be taken from us for beside him there is no other authority.  He can never be over-powered.

He reaches out to us now in grace and love and calls us to come to him, run to him, take his hand and stand behind him for he is about to bring judgment on all who have afflicted the poor, the weak, the helpless, the ignorant.  Justice is entering the world and we are all in need of mercy and grace in his presence for we are all guilty.  We have all crushed others and been crushed ourselves. We all have been hated by others and hated others in return ourselves. We have all failed to love and failed to be loved.  All of us are guilty of a lifetime of selfishness and self-centeredness for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No one is righteous no, not even one. Romans 3:10, 23

Jesus, the Son of God is about to reveal his authority and his great love for all those this world has crushed. He is about to wipe every tear away from their eyes and make all things new.  We can either stand before him in judgment or we can reach out for his hand, falling down before him and stand behind Him under his protection from his wrath against injustice knowing we all deserve eternal death and condemnation.

All we have to do is reach out to Him and ask him to be our Savior, as he stands at the entryway of our life. All we have to do is see our desperate need for him, asking him to stand before us and to save us from the consequences of our guilt before God. For now is the day of salvation, now is the time to answer his call to leave this world behind and come and follow him. Now is the time to leave the ship before it sinks; to leave the city, before it destroyed by grabbing hold of the messenger’s hand. Now is the time to call friends and family and loved ones and plead with them to leave with you, to come and stand behind Jesus with you to find grace and mercy in the time of need, in the time of God’s coming judgment on the world. Now is the time to grab a hold of his hand and to come and stand behind him under his protection, to follow His way out of this temporary life that is passing away into an eternal life that is forever in his presence, forever to be ruled by his perfect judgment and righteousness and will never be overthrown.

Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion. Heb. 3:15 Now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Cor. 6:2 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. John 3:18 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:40   For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:9-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:31
