Cinderella

“To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”
Isaiah 61:3

Dear Father,
I love it! Right there in the middle of scripture is a Cinderella story if ever I saw one! And the best part is that Walt Disney did not write it, you did. This is not a once-upon-a-time, make-believe fairytale in a magic kingdom with a fairy godmother. Rather it is about God who is my Father, a real Prince of Peace and a true kingdom. It is reality, truth, and bless you dear Father, it is for me and anyone else called by your name. By your saving grace and mercy the ashes, dirt, and soot of my soul have been wiped clean and a royal tiara adorns my head – a crown of beauty, a crown of righteousness from my Lord Jesus. His name is engraved on that crown and He placed it on my head. I don’t have to go about downcast and mournful because I am going to the ball! Gladness cascades down my whole being because I have been invited and no wicked step-anything can keep me back. There is no despair for me because I have donned myself in the most exquisite garment of praise. How could one be without hope when she wears a Designer, one of a kind, one hundred percent authentic gown of praise. As I put on this garment of adoration to you, I cannot help but feel my heart twirl and my feet glide across the ballroom floor. I am dancing with the King in my spirit. My Prince has come and His delight is in me. He rescued me from the cinders, purchased me with His life, and has brought me to His kingdom. What more could a girl ask!
And she will live happily ever after….

Dancing with the King,
Penny
