Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

John 20:28

Dear Father,

What a mighty work you have done. A brand new baby has come into our lives. A boy, a man child, a grand and I do mean GRAND… son. My firstborn now has a firstborn. Thank you for blessing us with this new life. So now what’s a grandmother to do except praise you and pray over this child. Oh how I pray over his life! I pray that Thomas grows strong in body, that his growth with be steady and sure. I pray for his mind to develop as a quick learner and that he will abound in knowledge. And above all I pray for his soul that one day, hopefully as a little boy, he will bow the knee and receive you Jesus as his Lord and Savior. It is my prayer that he will join another Thomas of so long ago and passionately proclaim “my Lord and my God!” I pray for his parents to seek wisdom from you in all areas of his upbringing. Help them to see that you have your hand on him. Father, I would humbly ask that you set this child apart even now from his birth to be a mighty warrior in your kingdom. He will grow up in a generation that will be far superior academically and technologically than any I have known. It will also be a generation that seeks its own way and not your way. I pray that Thomas will have courage to stand for Jesus, never wavering in his stance, and yet a heart that loves and is not self-righteous. Help him to know that you are his sufficiency and he can do all things through Christ. Use him to reach a world that is in desperate need of salvation. Whatever vocation you choose for him, whatever path you lead him on – I pray that the message of his life is Jesus. Now Father, I ask you to grant this grandmother wisdom to just love this boy and live a legacy of faith before him. What a marvelous gift he is and I praise you with all my heart.

Love,

          Penny (Nina)
