Cranky

Devotional, Wednesday Woman / Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people,
holy and dearly loved,
clothe yourselves with compassion,
kindness, humility,
gentleness and patience.”
Colossians 3:12

Dear Father,
This is one of those days where everyone I run in to is writing in different colored ink. Why can’t they just use the standard black or blue that is required? What is so hard about that? But noooo…, just about everyone I have met today has used red ink, green ink, or purple ink to write and scribble on my life. So You know what I am getting at. People just annoy me today. I know I am grouchy, cranky and I am tired. Thank You for listening to me squawk out my fussiness to You. Thank You that already I am convicted by Your precious Spirit of my selfishness and right now I bring that before You and lay it down. I need Your grace; Your soothing grace that fills all the rough places in my heart. Thank You Father for showing me Your patience and forgiving me. Thank You for those people who come my way that need an extra measure of compassion from me. Pour Your Spirit in my heart so I can be a fountain flowing with Your grace and splashing others. And dear Father, would You give me just a few moments today where I can rest and replenish my soul. How desperately I need You. Change this old crank-pot into a teapot whistling with songs of praise and wafting the fragrance of Christ through the air. I love You. Amen.

Love,
Penny
